- Day 53 Hostages Update: 12 Hostages Released Today, The Truth About Hamas Propaganda
With the extension of the temporary truce until Wednesday, November 29, 12 more hostages were released to Israel today. As more hostages are released, details about their treatment by Hamas and the terror groups’ use of them to spread propaganda have emerged. In the footage of hostages being released, Hamas terrorists can be heard saying “keep waving” as Israelis are made to smile and wave for the cameras. Terrorists even went so far as to force Danielle Aloni, who was held hostage with her five-year-old daughter, to write a thank you letter saying how well Hamas treated her in captivity. Hostages as young as 12 also report that terrorists forced them to watch footage of the October 7 atrocities, threatening them with guns if they cried.
- Neo-Nazis Demonstrate Outside Dallas Synagogue, Jew-Hatred Spikes Across Dallas Area
On Saturday, a group of neo-Nazis demonstrated outside Temple Emanu-El in Dallas, waving a Nazi flag and donning red armbands with Nazi swastikas. Since October 7, the Dallas-Fort Worth area has seen an alarming rise in antisemitic incidents. The Fort Worth Botanic Gardens found and removed anti-Jewish flyers adhered to visitors’ cars. Additionally, an antisemitic and anti-LGBTQ group gathered outside Cathedral of Hope chanting ‘Down with Israel,’ ‘Down with the Jews,’ ‘All gays should be gassed,’ ‘Annihilate the gays,’ and more.
- What AJC is Saying: “It was disturbing to see how brazen this display of hatred was,” said Joel Schwitzer, the Regional Director of AJC Dallas. “I think when people see tensions escalate in the Middle East it becomes an easy excuse to unleash their hatred of Jews… I would encourage the Jewish community to remain proud and vigilant at the same time.”
- Senior Fatah Leader Defends Hamas Massacre in Israel as Defensive War; Blames Israel for Aggression
Jibril Rajoub, Secretary General of Fatah’s Central Committee, justified the October 7 Hamas massacre in Israel, where over 1,200 people, mostly civilians, were killed, as part of a defensive war. Rajoub, whose Fatah Party controls the Palestinian Authority (PA), went further, and blamed Israel for the attack, stating it was a response to Israeli aggression on Palestinian lands. He also claimed that the Hamas attack thwarted Israel’s goal of integrating into the region as part of the Abraham Accords process without resolving the Palestinian issue. Rajoub further stated that “Hamas is part of our political and social fabric and of our struggle, and their involvement is important.” Officials in the PA, which administers portions of the West Bank, have so far refused to condemn the October 7 massacre by Hamas.
- War Update: Truce Breached in Northern Gaza, Blinken to Visit Israel
According to the IDF, three explosive devices were detonated in the northern Gaza Strip in what appears to be the first serious violation of the temporary ceasefire that was just extended to Wednesday. Later this week, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will make his third visit to Israel since October 7 to push for more extensions of the truce and secure the release of more hostages.
